Pick a story and watch it on the big clock. Stories marked Crosses o'clock pass the 12, so the clock stops at the o'clock first.
When the minute hand moves 15 small divisions, 15 minutes have passed.
From 4:52 to 4:59 is 59 − 52 = 7 minutes.
From 7:50 to 8:30: 7:50 to 8:00 is 10 minutes, 8:00 to 8:30 is 30 minutes. 10 + 30 = 40 minutes.
